WICHITA, Kan. – Cargill introduces the Excel™ Australian Grain Fed Beef brand, an extension of the Excel™ Fresh Meats brand. The brand expansion allows the Excel™ brand to better serve the growing global demand for high- quality beef in markets such as Japan, Korea, China, Australia and the United States, and will only include high-quality grain-fed beef from Australia.

The Excel™ Australian Grain Fed Beef brand will be offered to those customers who desire a high-quality Australian grain-fed beef offering. It will be sold in similarly marked boxes as North American Excel™ grain-fed beef, yet include distinctive markings to designate it as Australian grain-fed beef.
“Retail owners and foodservice operators around the world know the Excel™ name and associate the brand with an unmatched commitment to the beef industry,” said Chris Trumble, international group brand manager, Cargill Meat Solutions. “We are proud to extend the Excel™ Fresh Meats brand to include a new brand called Excel™ Australian Grain Fed Beef.”
Cargill’s fed-cattle processing facility in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia, processes the Excel™ Australian Grain Fed Beef brand. This facility recently received a $20 million fabrication floor upgrade.
The Excel™ Australian Grain Fed Beef brand is selected exclusively from high-quality, grain-fed Bos taurus cattle raised in southern Australia. The animals are fed a mix of steam-flaked wheat, cottonseed and other supplements, all specifically designed to deliver tender beef with a rich color.
In addition to Excel™ Australian Grain Fed Beef, Cargill Beef Australia will soon launch Riverine™ premium grain-fed beef, while continuing to offer Australian Angus Beef, and Cargill Beef Australia’s grass-fed beef.
In the last 10 years, Cargill has invested over a billion dollars globally in meat science research, technology and infrastructure striving to deliver Clean, Cold, Correct and On-Time™ products to the customers it serves.
