Caprock Cattle Feeders Joins 4-H to Enhance Ag-Education

DALHART, Texas -- As part of the effort to help young people gain life-long skills and promote education in agriculture, Caprock Cattle Feeders – the cattle-feeding business of Cargill —contributed $5,000 to the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation. The funds will be used to renovate the Dallam and Hartley 4-H Farm. The 4-H Farm provides area youth with hands-on activities to learn the importance of animal care, safety and livestock production.
“Thanks to Caprock and Cargill, our youth will have opportunity to become more than just winners inside the 4-H show-ring, “said Angela Miller with 4-H of Dallam and Hartley Counties. “They now will have the opportunity to be winners for the rest of their lives.”
“We are pleased to support the 4-H Farm and help our communities’ young people learn more about livestock production,” said Michael Miller, manager of Caprock Cattle Feeders feedlot in Dalhart. “We feel by supporting 4-H we are providing students with skills to become innovative, enterprising and successful. This is another way that Caprock nourishes people and possibilities.”
This contribution is sponsored by a combined grant from Caprock Cattle Feeders and Cargill’s Global Partnership Fund, a corporate program that matches contributions made by local Cargill facilities to support special projects and services in their communities.
